The historic Hoge and Lage der A forms traditionally the decor of the maritime summerfestival "Zomer welvaart". One thing is clear: during the summer it becomes a bust of importance in the Groninger 'Diepen' and ports. Come along and imagine yourself back in time on old cutters, rockers and push boats. Paradigm Festival 2017
It’s that time of year again; time for one of the most diverse and innovative electronic music festivals of the Netherlands: Paradigm Festival 2017. Noorderzon Performing Arts Festival Groningen is the somewhat peculiar combination of an international arts festival on the cutting edge with exciting contemporary performing arts from all over the world. This big annual summer festival in a feely accessible park is eleven days long and for about 135.000 visitors from Groningen, the rest of the Netherlands and the rest of the world.

Groningens Ontzet (Bommen Berend)
To commemorate Groningens Ontzet, there are festivities around Groningen every year on the 28th August. The day is also known as “Bommen Berend”, named after the bishop of Münster, the city which had the city of Groningen besieged in 1672.

Jonge Harten Theaterfestival
Just about all of the theaters in Groningen will be part of the Theater festival Jonge Harten from 17 up to 25 November, 2017. The festival program will be announced after the summer, but as always, one thing is certain: everyone will find something to his or her own liking.

The exciting dance performances, creative multimedia projects, international acts, workshops and short films attract 10.000 young culturally interested attendees every year.
